Intertextual References
We were inspired by Audrey Hepburn's sunglasses and scarf look. We initially thought it would quite nice for the front cover of album. I filtered the picture to be have a dull tones of purple, pink and grey, so it complements the inside cover and CD disk. but after looking at the pictures in Abney Park, we realized that we liked the pictures from the park to the extent that we naturally decided which picture should be used for front, back album cover and magazine ad. So the initial picture wasn’t used, but this gave me an opportunity to get an understanding on what tools I should use on Photoshop for the new photos.
We were also inspired by Rihanna's music videos for 'We Found Love' & 'You Da One' because in those videos,she uses the projections of abstracts angling of landscapes and current events for the 'We Found Love' music video and there was monochrome geometric prints in'You Da One'. We used actual location shots for our projection scene so it links with the actual location wide shots that we will add throughout the music video.
